CPM-4V has high impact toughness and wear resistance. It should be considered for applications where higher attainable hardness and wear resistance are required when compared to CPM-3V - it has high wear resistance, chipping resistance and very good ductility. Very similar in composition to Bohler-Uddeholms Vanadis 4E steel. Nb. The heat treat listed below is from Crucible - it can be modified to achive higher working hardness of 66 - 67HRc while keeping similar performance properties!

Suggested Heat Treatments:
Heat to 1050C Hold for 30 minutes
Air Quench
Temper twice for two hours at 550C for 61HRc
Supplied in 650mm Lengths – Surface Ground Annealed
