15N20 is a good beginners steel that can be used by itself or paired with 1070, 1075, 1080, 1084, 1095 or 80CrV2 to make Damascus steel. The high nickel content resists the acid etch to stay bright in Damascus steel.

Suggested Heat Treatment:
Heat to 800 – 830C
Oil Quench (Suggested oil is Rye 50)
Temper for two hours at 200C for 60HRc
